MToday we speak of Japan, I know that if we would work to say and to comment until the end of our days, but this time we talk about watercolour. I was going to prepare the article "Watercolour we trust III"When I run into OHGUSHI and I fell in love, then I promise that you'll love him madly and the fashion article/ illustrators collection will gravitate to the next time. I Swear!

Mr. Takeshi Ohgushi comes from Land of Wa, born in ’ 77 and looks like a real artist dandy with so much style Borsalino Hat, unkempt beard, hands stained by the ink and then… painted on canvas giant barefoot during the live performances that he partakes in a crowd attentive and adoring. Bravo bravo, this is out of the question and build on the many important collaborations, I would say that it is quite. Tested not only attracts great demand by all the fashion-addicted over the world as Vogue, Elle and Harper's Bazaar, But even large brand fashion as Emilio Pucci, Lanvin, Shu Uemura and Preview (have you seen that shoes?) and what about McDonalds Japan and giant, colorful advertising campaign to make you to drink their coffee? Sure associate McDonalds watery coffee Aquarelle refined Ohgushi doesn't make it any justice!

The strength of Ogushi is to combine the ancient ’ tradition of Japanese writing with the field more led, for nature, to show itself in all its beauty: the fashion. If I were to describe the Japanese art (but also Chinese) of calligraphy couldn't call it simply the finest way to describe with ideographs and draw at the same time, delicate and decided, monochrome but with thousands of shades. So are the drawings of Takeshi Ogushi, refine and decided.

The main subject of his artistic exploration is the fashion in all its forms, in fact, for its various clients has illustrates by flasks of perfume and shoes of black paint that evaporate into the thick white to nerd style glasses (back in fashion) and handbags with galactic flakes… Certainly if I found one of his pictures in my morning subway all day will be definetly better!.

However : women portrayed by Ohgushi-san are clean and sophisticated delights with sensual and winking expressions which have little in common with the classical beauties depicted in ukiyo-e, complex and realistic detail and realised with different colors and traditional for both parties to materials used. These “new women” are a derivative transposed not only because of the graphics created with its tools of calligraphy (inks and chine from dissolve, round brushes to keep perfectly perpendicular to the sheet while with other hand it keeps the sleeve of a kimono…), but mainly because they are the flicks and are defined and determined in a few specific signs.

Suggest a form, expression without necessarily having to spend an entire space. The new women of Takeshi Ohgushi are expressed in white spaces. Here you can see one of the many videos showing the work of Ohgushi-san. Shooting in 2010 at the international event Tokyo Graphic Passport.
