The ’Stephen Mackey's art I like to die and I use this term in fact. His oil paintings on wood are sad, deeply dramatic and with an aftertaste noir that conquers.

His works are permeated by an ethereal atmosphere, almost dreamlike bleak, when you least expect it looks dramatic flap. Although the characters expressions convey emotions as calm and serenity, a kind of vague smile of assent, it is said that things are going to end up well.

As for the oil painting “Poison Gum” where the little girl approaches curious towards a giant pink candy, that seems ejected from a machine humanized, serene face, understanding, almost motherly, that awaits the imminent tragedy offering a harmless gift.

Death waits behind the gate, violence is perceived just before and contrasts with the sweet and melancholy impression. Art by Stephen Mackey is so dramatic and mysterious that you could spend hours looking at it and take a different meaning each time.
