If you are like me, a son of the 90 have also witnessed the birth of the internet and then you saw the first websites full of animated gifs.

Nancy Liang is a passionate illustrator of which gave a decisive turn to the art of composing animated gif. The gif illustrated by Nancy Liang are a must see.

Sure, if you are son of the 90, You can testify to have seen worse than of GIFs psychedelic Unicorn shaped, such as the Macarena and Tamagotchi, hard to say but it is possible that you have the nostalgia of those years (are you sure to be nostalgic? Then watch this video dedicated to Internet Explorer and the 90…).

Nostalgia aside, as often happens with time, things are transformed and improve when creativity and passion take over. So gifs that we used in creating the first internet have evolved and in the hands of a creative have become a different and new form of storytelling.

Yes, because the illustration is an art very simple to read (not to do, only be read as user).

An illustration already contains a story, or at least a part of it, the composition of the board is designed in order to tell a "little story" in the Story.

But if we add a little animation then we get gif illustrated new generation, refined and creative as sketches that come to life in a notebook left unattended by its owner. What I personally find fantastic in these illustrations are paper textures and colors or more often the total absence.

I am convinced that this type of gif brings the level of narrative on another level, pity that this romantic and nostalgic effect can not be transferred on paper.
